It begins in the Kashubian Lake District in the area of the Szymbarskie hills at the foot of Castle Mountain. It joints the Vistula in Gniew.<br \/>\nThe Wierzyca in its initial stages is overgrown with reeds and inaccessible, and in parts is deep. From Starogard Gdanski the river begins to significantly accelerate, and its banks are overgrown in places with osiers, but mostly it flows without problem. The Wierzyca is a fast flowing river and has a big drop, with many fallen trees and submerged boulders.
